1. (a) A research study involves examining the impact of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana initiative on the economically weaker section in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Suggest an appropriate research design (in terms of quantitative and qualitative research designs) to undertake such a study. Give reasons.
(b) Discuss the difference between Univariate, Bivariate and Multivariate analysis?
2. (a) A study is conducted to find the relationship between city temperature on a single day and the elevation of the city. A random sample of various cities is presented in the following table: (you may solve this using Microsoft Excel)
(i) Find a regression equation for elevation and city temperature on a given day.
(ii) Find the residuals and create a residual plot.
(iii) Use the regression equation to estimate the city temperature for the city situated at an elevation of 5500ft.
(iv) Find the correlation coefficient and coefficient of determination and interpret both.
(b) A study shows that there is a correlation between people who are obese and those that have cancer. Does that mean being obese causes cancer?

निम्नलिखित प्रश्नों का उत्तर दें। प्रत्येक प्रश्न 20 अंक का है।
1. अ) मध्य प्रदेश में प्रधानमंत्री जन धन योजना के तहत कार्यक्रमों के निर्बल वर्ग के लोगों पर प्रभाव ज्ञात करने हेतु एक शोध अध्ययन किया जाना है। इस शोध अध्ययन हेतु उपयुक्त शोध अभिकल्पना का सुझाव (परिमाणात्मक तथा गुणात्मक अभिकल्पना के रूप में) दें। कारण भी दें।
ख) एक विचर, द्विचर तथा बहुचर आँकड़ों के विश्लेषण के बीच अंतर बताएँ ?
2. क) किसी एक दिन विशेष पर एक शहर के तापक्रम तथा इसकी उच्चता ( elevation) के बीच संबंध का अध्ययन किया जाना है। विभिन्न शहरों का एक यादृच्छिक न्यादर्श निम्नलिखित तालिका में प्रस्तुत किया जा रहा है :
i) किसी दिए गए दिन पर तापक्रम तथा उच्चता हेतु प्रतीपगमन समीकरण ज्ञात करें ।
ii) अवशेषों (residuals) को ज्ञात करें तथा अवशेष अंकण की रचना करें।
(iii) 5500 फीट के उच्चता स्तर पर शहर हेतु तापमान की गणना करने के लिए प्रतीपगमन समीकरण का प्रयोग करें।
iv) सहसंबंध गुणांक तथा निर्धारण गुणांक को ज्ञात कर इसका निर्वचन करें।
ख) एक अध्ययन यह दर्शाता है कि मोटापे से ग्रस्त लोगों और कैंसर वाले लोगों के बीच एक संबंध है। क्या इसका अर्थ यह हुआ कि कैंसर का कारण मोटापा होता है? अपने उत्तर के समर्थन में कारण दें।
ग) अनुमान की मानक त्रुटि पूर्वानुमेयता की सत्यता का मापक है । व्याख्या करें।

3. क्या आप ऐसा मानते हैं कि मोडल के चयन निर्धारण में एकिक सूचना मापदंड (AIC) समायोजन R2 मापदंड से उन्नत मापदंड है? अपने उत्तर मे समर्थन में कारण एवं उदाहरण दें।
4. आर्थिक आँकड़ों के संदर्भ में ‘लॉग प्रभाव ( Log effect) शब्द से आप क्या समझते है ? लौग प्रभाव में योगदान देने वाले कारकों का लेखा जोखा दें। अपने उत्तर मे समर्थन में उदाहरण दें।
